Appraisal Services
Richter’s Jewelry & Design Studio offers appraisal services for articles of fine jewelry, regardless of whether you purchased your jewelry from us, another jewelry store or have inherited it. We believe that part of taking good care of your jewelry is to have it appraised and insured. A fine jewelry appraisal is a statement of both quality and value and is, in most cases, required to obtain an insurance policy for your jewelry. The value of jewelry changes with market conditions, so an appraisal can become out of date and need to be updated every four years or as the market requires. At Richter’s, we are committed to the ethical evaluation of jewelry that reflects the actual current market prices with truthful and accurate descriptions.
Appraisals for your jewelry purchase from Richter’s Jewelry & Design Studio
For items that have been purchased at Richter’s, we are happy to email an appraisal to you, per your request, at no cost – just let us know at the time of your purchase.
If you would like us to mail you a covered & sleeved hard copy of your appraisal, we are happy to do that, as well. We will even include photographs of your jewelry in the appraisal. When the time comes to update your appraisal, just let us know. Additional charges apply for appraisal hard copies, included photographs and updates.
Appraisals for fine jewelry, not purchased at Richter’s Jewelry & Design Studio
If you have jewelry that needs to be appraised – even if it wasn’t purchased from us – we are still happy to assist you.
We cannot accommodate appraisal appointments while you wait, as the process can be lengthy, when done correctly. As such, we do ask that you leave your jewelry at the studio to be appraised. Our current time of completion for appraisals is approximately 2 weeks. During that time, your jewelry will be fully secured and insured by us.
Appraisal pricing is dependent upon the piece of jewelry to be appraised. Please feel free to bring your jewelry into the studio, give us a call or send us an email for pricing details.
